Volunteer Recognition Week
April 15-21, 2020

As a grassroots organization, volunteers are the backbone that Special Olympics Canada relies on to ensure 49,600 athletes across the country with intellectual disabilities are offered an amazing sports training and competition experience.

While we like to thank and recognize our volunteers all year long for their hard work and support, we like to highlight their contributions each April for some well-deserved praise during Volunteer Recognition Week.

As a grassroots organization, volunteers are the backbone that Special Olympics Ontario relies on to ensure over 26,000 athletes across the province with intellectual disabilities are offered an amazing sports training and competition experience.

While we like to thank and recognize our volunteers all year long for their hard work and support, we like to highlight their contributions each April for some well-deserved praise during Volunteer Recognition Week.

This year, we have created an integrated “Why I Volunteer” campaign that recognizes the contributions of our volunteers but also gives you opportunities to personalize your reasons for volunteering, share them in your social media channels, and to help us attract even more volunteers to the movement!

Some of you volunteer for a family member, or for inclusivity, for your community or for a friend. Whatever your reason, we invite you to download one of our graphics and share it with your community.

Use our “Why I Volunteer” toolkit to share your story, inspire others, and attract more volunteers!
