Monday, April 25th @ 7pm
Conference Kick Off
Join our special guest Catriona Le May Doan, Canadian Olympic Athlete, as we kick off our Virtual Volunteer Conference.
We are looking forward to a week of celebrating YOU, our volunteers, who bring the heart to our communities! Check out the details below that outline the fun, engaging and informative sessions we have in store for you!
Our Kick Off event will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube on Monday, April 25th at 7pm.
Tuesday, April 26, May 3 & 10 from 6-10pm
SOC Competition Introduction NCCP Course
This course was developed for those SO coaches that work with competitive athletes.
The material that will be covered in this course is as follows: planning a safe practice for the SO athlete, associated disabilities, planning a practice and emergency action plan, analyzing the SO athlete, modifying the practice for the SO athlete, and supporting the competitive environment.
This course is a requirement for Head coaches at the Provincial games and for all coaches that would like to coach at National or International games.
This course is currently full.

School Programs 2022-2023
With the provincial launch of Hometown Games, this session will explore what Hometown Games will look like in a schools setting.
This will include a brief overview of the competition structure for 2022-23, as well as an preview for the launch of our Unified Champion Schools initiative in the fall.
Wednesday, April 27th @6:00pm
SOO Session: LETR
Join Derek Spence, Manager of the LETR in Ontario on Wednesday, April 27th at 6:00pm.
Come learn about the history of the Law Enforcement Torch Run and it's worldwide impact on the Special Olympics movement.
Find out about the variety of fundraising events, the money they make and who makes up the LETR.

SOO Session: Unified Programs
Unified Sports has been a huge growth area in both School Programs and SOO Partner programs for the last 5 years. Looking forward to the 2022-23 school year, we will be providing a break down of the types of Unified Programs offered in schools. We will also explore and discuss how these types of programs may help to supplement community programs.

SOO Session: HTG/ RTP
Competition is Back! Join Jarrod and Juli on Wednesday April 27th at 7pm to talk HomeTown Games and Return to Program. This session will explore the Hometown Games brand and the opportunities for hosting and participating in these events, so we can get our athletes safely back in the game.

SOO Session: Volunteer Spotlight
Join SOO's 2021 Volunteer of the Year, Tana Manchester, who will be speaking about the impact that volunteering for Special Olympics has had on her life and the importance of volunteers in our communities.
Thursday, April 28th from 7-8:30pm
Special Guest: John Scott
More Great. Less Grind.
John will be speaking about his swimming career, his experience with Speical Olympics, later on becoming overwhelmed with trying to do it all, and his journey back from burnout to experience more great and less grind.


Friday, April 29th @ 7pm
Volunteer Social Session: Trivia and Drinks
Join us for a fun and challenging night of trivia! Gather up your team (1-4 people per team) virtually or among your household and match your knowledge against SOO volunteers and supporters from across the province.
When registering, please indicate how many people will be participating from your household, or indicate who you would like to be on a team with. For those that do not specify, random teams will be assigned.
Categories will cover a wide range of topics, and bragging rights and prizes will be on the line for the top teams!
